  • August 15:  George enlisted in the United States Army.

  • October 27:  Georges’ brother Luman Winchell dies in a general in Little Rock, Arkansas.
  • November 30:  George is wounded at the Battle of Franklin.

  • January 7:  The United States Federal Census taken in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida shows a widowed retired George living with his son Henry and his family.

1925 

  • November 2:  George Winchell dies in Pinellas County, Florida. He is buried at the Concord Township Cemetery, Lake County, Ohio.
