1861

  • October 24: Thomas enlists in the Confederate Army at Camp Cheatham.
  • November and December:  Company Muster Roll.  Present

1862

  • February 16:  Thomas is captured at Ft. Donalson.
  • August 1:  Appears on a roll for prisoners of war incarcerated at Camp Douglass, Illinois.
  • September 4:  Sent from Camp Douglas to Vicksburg to be exchanged.

1863 

  • January and February: Company Muster Roll.  Present.
  • March and April:  Company Muster Roll. Present.
  • May and June:  Company Muster Roll.  Present.
  • July and August:  Company Muster Roll. Present.
  • October 22:  Company Muster Roll/Mobile, Alabama.  Present.

1864 

  • November 30: Fought in the Battle of Franklin. Wounded.
  • December 17: Taken prisoner at Franklin on the Confederate Retreat.

1865

  • January 5: Arrived at military prison in Louisville, Kentucky.
  • January 9: Transferred to Camp Chase prison in Columbus.
  • January 11:  Received at Camp Chase.
  • February 17: Paroled at Camp Chase, Ohio and transferred to Point Lookout, Maryland for exchange.

1867

  • January 9:  Thomas Dudley Council marries Sarah Elizabeth Felts in Cheatham County, Tennessee.

1870

  • August 15:  The United States Federal Census taken in Cheatham County, Tennessee shows Thomas, a farmer, and Sarah living with their children: William, 3 and Elizabeth, 1.

1880

  • June 12:  The United States Federal Census taken in Cloars School House, Obion County, Tennessee shows Thomas, a farmer, and Sarah living with their children: Willie, age 12, Priscilla, 7, Kate, 5 and Mattie, 1.

1900 

  • June 8: The United States Federal Census taken in Obion County, Tennessee shows Thomas, a farmer, and Sarah living with their children: Kate, 25, Ben, 18, Verne, 14 and Cleveland, 12.
