Battle of Franklin Anniversary
On November 30, The Battle of Franklin Trust will once again display luminaries at dusk to honor the casualties inflicted during the Battle of Franklin 153 years ago.
The illumination will take place on the battlefield surrounding the Carter House. A brief ceremony will begin at 4:00 pm - the time that the battle began. For the remainder of the illumination, names of soldiers who fought in the Battle of Franklin will be read.
Carter House and Carnton will close to the public at 4:00 pm on November 30 (last guided tour begins at 3:00 pm) but will open again for free walk-through tours from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Volunteers are essential in making this event possible by assisting with the set up and break down of the luminaries. If you are interested in participating as a volunteer, please contact Jayde Jacobs at (615) 794-0903 or email@example.com.
