About the Behind the Scenes Tour
Carnton’s Behind the Scenes Tour will allow visitors to experience areas of the house not open on the Classic Tour. The tour will begin with main areas of the house, before exploring the basement, third floor and back balcony. By seeing rooms never before accessed by the public, guests will be able to further understand the history of the McGavock family, who was directly impacted by the Battle of Franklin and saw their home used as a field hospital for Confederate wounded.
The Behind the Scenes Tour lasts approximately 90 minutes. This tour is not recommended for children under the age of ten or those with limited mobility.
Contact Meagan Wuest at (615) 794-0903 or firstname.lastname@example.org for questions or to schedule a Behind the Scenes Tour for a group or 10 or more. Special military rates available - please call for details.
