Blue & Gray Days
Thursday through Saturday, November 7-9, 2019
Blue and Gray Days is a three-day event that draws hundreds of school children and adult spectators every year. At both Carter House and Carnton, guests will meet Civil War re-enactors and 1800s living historians. They get hands-on experience with clothes, trades, and weapons of the past.
Living Historians and Re-enactors in 2018:
Period music by the Caldwells
Rev. Charles Buchahn depicting a Federal Chaplain
Dennis Boggs as Abraham Lincoln
Dr. Naima Johnston-Bush depicting slave spirituals
Curt Fields As Gen. U.S. Grant
1800s Outdoor Games and Activities
Confederate and Federal camps
And much, much more. . .
The mornings of Thursday and Friday are reserved for school groups. If you are a teacher looking to book a school group or a homeschool parent looking to come to the event, pre-booked tour times for school pricing are required.
