  • William F. Kemble was born in Ohio to George and Martha Kemble.

1850     

  • August 31:  The U.S. Federal Census enumerated in Elkrun Township, Columbiana County, OH showed 14-year-old William living with his parents and siblings. His father, George, was a merchant.

1860     

  • June 9:  The U.S. Federal Census enumerated in Elkrun Township, Columbiana County, OH showed 23 year old William, a miller.
  • July 5: William married Mary Lowrey.

1862     

  • August 13: William F. Kemble enlisted in the United States Army. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant.

1864     

  • January 13: William was promoted to Full 1st Lieutenant.
  •             September 8: William was promoted to Full Captain.
  • November 30:  William was killed in action at the Battle of Franklin.
