Rippa Villa, built in 1855, was one of the premier farms in Middle Tennessee. On November 29, 1864, the home and the families who lived there found themselves in the middle of one of the most dramatic events of the Civil War.

Rippa Villa is closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas.

Classic House Tour

60-minute, guided tour of Rippa Villa. Adults $22, children (6-15) $14.

Offered throughout the day based on the flow of walk-in traffic, typically every 30 - 40 minutes. You will receive your tour time when you arrive. The last guided tour of the day begins at 4pm.

Tennessee Campaign Ticket

60-minute, guided tour of Carnton, Carter House, and Rippa Villa. $40 per person.

Offered throughout the day based on the flow of walk-in traffic, typically every 30 - 40 minutes. You will receive your tour time when you arrive. The last guided tour of each day begins at 4pm.

Spring Hill Walking Tour

100-minute, guided tour of historic downtown Spring Hill. The tour begins at Rippa Villa, and must be booked seven days in advance (with a two-person minimum). $30 per person.

Join us for the first of its kind walking tour! You will learn about the earliest origins of Spring Hill and about settlers like James Peters, Albert Russell, and Nathaniel Cheairs. You will hear about Henry Wade, who should rightfully be considered the founder of Spring Hill. Your guide will take you to some of the most historic places in town, such as the William McKissack home, the Gorham Wing house, the Methodist, Presbyterian, and Episcopal churches, and you will learn about the site of the Freedmen's Bureau school which was constructed after the Civil War. You will also walk to the Spring Hill Cemetery and learn about some of the town's interesting residents. The tour will conclude at the home of Martin Cheairs. Please note that the tour does not go inside any of the historic buildings.

All Men Are Created Equal

90-minute, guided tour of the house and grounds. The tour will follow the United States from its Founding to Civil War. You will learn about the decades long struggle over the very meaning of equality and how the country slowly drifted apart over the issue of African slavery. $29 per person.

This tour is offered nowhere else in Tennessee.  Proceeds from every ticket will help fund the design and installation of the new exhibit and museum at the new Carter House visitor, which will open in 2026. Its theme will be: All Men Are Created Equal.

90-minute guided tour focusing on slavery as an institution and the specific people who were enslaved at Rippa Villa. $29 per person.
